Flip and get the details on Ramin Djawadi Scoring Gears of War 4…
Djawadi explained to the Associated Press:
“Obviously, I want to make it very different to Game of Thrones.”
“Whenever I approach a new project, I want to make sure I’m setting up a new sound – even though we’re still using a lot of orchestra and percussion.”
He teased that the score, recorded at Sony Pictures Studios, will really push the “emotional undertones” of the game and feature unique acoustic instruments.
It’s not the first time that the prolific composer, who has also worked on the Pacific Rim, Warcraft and Iron Man film soundtracks, has created music for a game. He started as a sound technician at Thief developer Looking Glass Studios.
“I remember back in the day there was never enough space on the disc to include full orchestral sound. Nowadays, it’s almost limitless. It’s amazing to be able to include a great, full soundtrack.”
He has scored every single episode of HBO’s fantasy epic, Game of Thrones. He has also receiving multiple industry awards for his work, so this is a perfect fit.
